The PurpleStride Story
Since the first walk in 2008, PurpleStride has been the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s most powerful vehicle for fundraising and awareness. Each year, in more than 50 PurpleStride events across USA, survivors, families, researchers, caregivers and others touched by pancreatic cancer come together to rewrite the future of this deadly disease.
Together, we’ve raised more than $87 million for pancreatic cancer research and patient services through community events from 2008 to 2016. But the true impact of our work together is measured in progress, not dollars. Since 2008, we’ve achieved a 3% increase in pancreatic cancer survival and have inspired more than 1 million people across USA and Japan to take action in the fight against pancreatic cancer. With each PurpleStride we continue moving the needle for patients battling this devastating disease.

February 2016, she was diagnosed as Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and told that surgery was not possible. She wanted to have surgical resection of her tumor for better survival, so she opted for gemcitabine+nabPaclitaxel chemoteraphy. She received that treatment for almost a year and her tumor shrank to the point that she was able to have a most innovative conversion surgery. Please read her remarkable story below.

Kanagawa Yamato Awaodori began as an event in a local shopping area. This annual event which became the 41th year this year is being held with the participation of many consecutive participants from outside the city prefecture besides many local consultation. Please enjoy Awa Odori established as a summer tradition in Yamato City at Hibiya Park, the venue of Purple Stride Kanagawa Tokyo 2017. Pencil Bunch (Roryo Matsutani, Yuri Hirata, Kyoko Totoku, KIWA)
Gospel · chorus group with 4 people. Formed in 2002. Has a wide repertory from standard gospel to contemporary. Mainly live houses in Tokyo, such as Meguro Blues Alley Japan, perform live regularly. Also, in 2005 and 2007, we planned and produced gospel concerts with a total of 150 people by choir at the Kyrian Hall, and called on a topic. 2010 at Summer Sonic, co-star with Stevie Wonder. 2012 "Suma Marriage" CM appearance. Opening act appearance of 2013 musical "Mama I Want to Sing". Appearance of Orange Gospel Concert of Child Abuse Prevention Activity and Asian Gospel Festival. B League Arvalval Tokyo Halftime Show appearance etc. In addition to solo activities, each member is active in various fields such as gospel workshop, gospel quier's direction, voice trainer, back chorus, CM song, corporate event, school ceremony.

L.B.F. guided by Roryo Matsutani, Masquire with Jiyugaoka Gospel Choir, Meguro Gospel Choir gathered. 2014 voluntary concert 'Faith' was held. He has repeatedly appeared in large-scale projects such as Yokohama Gospel Festival, Christmas Gospel of Greetly Gospel Singers, Japan Mass Choir, Japan Gospel Music Festival, and Gospel Wonderland. She also appeared in the 2016 B League Half Time Show.
